a little bit about me!
from a small child, id always had beliefs in fairies nature spirits and there kind, i was always climbing trees, making herbal and flower waters in buckets as a child.. even my favourite image to be at a face painter was a witch! this continued through out my life, from films, books, tv and going to various festivals, seeing morris dancers on the village green, and the crowning of the may queen. I danced around the maypole as a child and always found the idea of it fascinating to see,
i spent a good, what 3 years researching, foraging all the information that i needed to become a hedgewitch. through illness, i spent a lot of time making up recipes and remedies, incense, pot pourri, and similar herbal crafts. i have a background history in romani ancestry, my great grandmother used to read tealeaves for the aristocracy, my grandfather well ... lets say he was an interesting form of character! as a child i spent a lot of time watching my nan cook, making mess pots and meals out of nothing, i mean 9 of us living in the house, the food had to stretch! being a hedgewitch combines all my loves of nature, herbs, food, the sabbats, heel of the years rituals and rites, candles magick, lunar magick which i am told (or have been told) i am too lunar! and need to balance my solar energies which, i am by rising with the sun and greeting the dawn.
as i grew up, i went to various festivals such as the beltane bash, pagan pride, witchfest and met a lot of new friends along the way . i suppose my influences are cassandra eason, scott cunningham, tylluan penry, ronald hutton, doreen valiente. i have a method in my workshops that , everyone is free to se there intuition at any point- for what works for me may not necessarily work for them!
as time went on , i formed a coven in ashford called the coven of the phoenix, over time, this disbanded.
i held moots in the phoenix pub, which didnt have a great turn out it apparent there are not many pagans in ashford! ive been a practicing witch since 1999.
